Krazy Rush

First a shout out to Carol for cheering us on. Thanks sew much! As always a big Thanks to Madame Samm for all that she does to bring us all together. I did this backwards this is my second project. (tell you why in a minute)  I really had to RUSH to get this second one done. (because of my mistake)  I got the pattern from Sew it Today magazine.

I am sew happy with the way it turned out.

(now for my embarrassing confession)
The next project I actually started first.  Apparently I can't read.  I didn't understand "only" red, black, white, grey. Since I spent a lot of time on this I decided to share anyway. It has other colors in it but I also used some rush hour fabric.  So, imagine you are in the car with this woman.  You are on the way to work and there is bumper to bumper traffic.  What is she doing?

Using the rear view mirror to put on her mascara.  Yes, I have seen that too many times.  Notice the old man in her rearview mirror is not very pleased with her either “well la de freakin da”

ha ha that still makes me laugh.  The semi truck in front is Rushing to deliver Rush Hour fabric to all J

  2. Love your Rush hour quilt. Love the white sashing around the blocks. Your Rush Hour Lady is a kick. I have seen many putting on makeup while in the car. If I tried that, I would have mascara from my forehead to my chin and everywhere in between. ;)

  24. Love your "Rush Hour" quilt. And I must say...I am so glad you don't follow directions any better than me some days! LOL. Your Rearview Mirror quiltie is just delightful. I just got the biggest kick out of it this morning. It reminded me on my neighbor girl who had to have been your model. She drove at warp speed with her little ones standing up in the back seat all the time. It drove me crazy. I love your creativity!

  27. Beautiful quilt. And that driver sure gets around. I see her all over the place. I have also seen men shaving (electric razor), people reading maps or other paper work while driving (in motion), and of course the cell phone dialers and worse, texters.

  28. The quilt turned out lovely. Perfect pattern to showcase those colors. Your little wall hanging is a hoot. I would feel just like the man in the car behind her. LOL

  29. Love both of your projects. The appliqué quilt is so funny, but I have seen people do all sorts of things while driving. It's scary at times.

  31. I would not want to be in the car with a woman who is putting on her makeup...she is cruising for a rear-ender for sure. Glad the child is in a car seat.

  32. Both projects are great. The original project is sooo creative and so true. When I traveled in rush hour it was amazing to me to see the things people were doing but putting on makeup was the most common, especially among the women. Not me though, it took my total concentration to get to work and home safe and sound.

  38. Hi there, I really like your red, black and gray quilt because we usually think of blocks instead of rectangles and I really like it. But your picture art of the car, rear view mirror, make-up and old guy....it just ROCKS! Thanks for posting it because it made me laugh :)

  41. So funny...I have a friend who was stopped by the police one day for putting on mascara in the car on her way to work. The problem was she was a teacher and he pulled her over right in front of a school bus bull of her kids. :) blessings, marlene
