Here is what I have been up to:

Finished my first Block from jacquelynnesteves.com Sew Sweet Simplicity BOM

I have been too busy to blog and I decided I couldn't since some of these were Christmas surprises. I made a batman quilt for my granddaughter. Yes, she has a crush on Batman :) This pattern is on Craftsy from Laurel B.

I made an Ariel quilt for my other granddaughter. She loves that movie! My friend gave me the panel and I got to practice FMQ all around the sea shells and Ariel's hair and body. I also stuffed flounder to give him a little 3 D look.

  I made a  Wonder Woman quilt for my daughter. I searched for a photo of Wonder Woman on Google and then I traced it with a light box and then used the Thread Art quilting process by Lola Jenkins. Finally coloring it in with colored pencils

I didn't know if I would get finished in time but luckily I completed the last one the Sunday before Christmas.

I am now getting Krochet Krazy.  I found this site by Sharon Ojala Amigurumi To Go. I made this cute little mouse with his own winter scarf. 

All of these patterns and tutorials are free.  I gave her a donation for sharing all of this with us but it is not required. My first crochet animal was this bear. 

 I got the pattern from a little book that I bought from Walmart.  I also made a little mermaid crochet doll. (guess I don't have a picture of that one)  This website has a link to several mermaid patterns. Pink Mambo While at work I think about crafting all day but when I get home I am beat. I still want to craft but I just sit on the couch rather than go to the sewing room.  So I can crochet on the couch and relax.  I signed up for the Harry Potter  Project of Doom quilt along at Fandom in Stitches.  I am going to do the Sweetwater Co.  BOM, loved the fabric.  I won a trip to Hampton, VA Quilt Fest Feb 2015 Yeehaw! I am now a Block tester for Quiltmaker 100 blocks Yahoo! I am still designing blocks to go to my Crafsty pattern store.  Antony is free and Wormey is too. I plan to have more FREE patterns soon. I have signed up for the Tammy Bag Blog Hop and the We Support You Blog Hop. Check them out!  I also became a member of Crafty Gemini Quilt Club. I attend a quilting bee twice a month and I am a board member of the Vance Quilts R US guild. I am sure I missed something. Wow all of this since my last post. Shoosh now that I talked about all of this I know why my head is spinning all of the time!  Next year I plan on taking more as I go photos and I want to learn to take better quality photos. Trick or Treat, Short and Sweet!

I need some new sewing feet! LOL Thanks to Wicked Wendy for being our cheerleader!  My name is Wendy too. My husband would agree that I can be a Wicked Wendy also ! ha ha ;)  I have a Krazy mind.  So this is the first thing that popped into my head when I heard Black Cat Crossing.  I thought of how witches are usually the tricksters.  Well, now the trick is on her.  While she is brewing some treats the black cat is sneaking up on her to play a trick on her.  He's telling us to shhhh and not tell.  

I thought I would try to do some free motion ghosts all around.

Krazy Rush

First a shout out to Carol for cheering us on. Thanks sew much! As always a big Thanks to Madame Samm for all that she does to bring us all together. I did this backwards this is my second project. (tell you why in a minute)  I really had to RUSH to get this second one done. (because of my mistake)  I got the pattern from Sew it Today magazine. 

   I am sew happy with the way it turned out. 

(now for my embarrassing confession)

 The next project I actually started first.  Apparently I can't read.  I didn't understand "only" red, black, white, grey. Since I spent a lot of time on this I decided to share anyway. It has other colors in it but I also used some rush hour fabric.  So, imagine you are in the car with this woman.  You are on the way to work and there is bumper to bumper traffic.  What is she doing?  

Using the rear view mirror to put on her mascara.  Yes, I have seen that too many times.  Notice the old man in her rearview mirror is not very pleased with her either “well la de freakin da”

 ha ha that still makes me laugh.  The semi truck in front is Rushing to deliver Rush Hour fabric to all J

Around the World Blog Hop

Hi, this is my first “Around the World Blog Hop” I would like to introduce myself and also share some links to some very inspirational quilters. My name is Wendy Kruskie I live in North Carolina.  I am married to a wonderful guy that continues to support me and encourage me in this wonderful world of quilting. I have been quilting for about 2 years and I am constantly learning new things. I was invited to join the Hop by Jennifer Schifano Thomas @ CurlicueCreations. One of her most recent quilt designs is Cosmic Blast, see below.

 Isn't it out of this world?  The pattern is in the Fall 2014 issue of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. You have to check out her blog she has so much to share. Her designs have been in too many magazines to count.Thanks for inviting me Jennifer!

 Now to answer the Hop questions:

 1. What am I working on? I am working on a lot of different things. I am in a "Rush" to finish a wall hanging for the “Rush Hour” blog hop. Here is a little sneak peak.

 I am almost done but had to put it on hold for the upcoming Rush Hour hop. I am also going to be in the “Black Cat Crossing” Hop. I have started the design but not cut or sewn anything yet. I have a couple of charity quilts I am working on and a new Christmas wreath quilt I will be starting at my quilt bee tonight.

 2. How does my work differ from others? I would say it is all over the place. I never know what I will be doing next. I like to try too many different things at once. Something that pops in my head is how I start to draw and doodle to get my concept going. My granddaughters visited recently and were having a great time learning to fish. They actually “liked” the worms that they were fishing with and wanted to keep them as pets. So I came up with a worm block. I don’t think I have ever seen one before LOL. This is the block that I designed.

 The pattern is on Craftsy.

3. Why do I write/create what I do? It is nice to get feedback from people that enjoy the same hobby. Sometimes it is hard to find people that can appreciate the time and effort we put into our creations. The internet has become a great place to share and find inspiration from so many other people all over the world.

4. How does my writing/creating process work? I am not really sure. I am pretty new at this. I have been quilting for a couple of years. I am just now learning EQ7 and having a blast with the software. As stated before some crazy idea pops in my head. I make a quick doodle and then go play in EQ7. Here is a doodle.  Which is my rush hour project. What a bad doodle.  LOL...I know some people have wonderful elaborate drawings.  Mine are just drawn in under a minute hee hee.  It works!

  I still have a lot to learn and I look forward to seeing new creations from each of you every day. So now for a short introduction to another inspiration in my life, you may have seen her site. If not check it out. Bea @ Beaquilter  Her designs have also been in several magazines. Her most recent quilt design is in the July/August 2014 issue of McCall’s Quilting.

Buzy as a quilting bee….

Wow, look at my sewing room.  I shouldn’t show you this but this is how I work LOL.

  It is a Krazy mess but once I am done with my Rush Hour project I will clean it up and then start a new mess.  I start out putting everything into neat little piles and putting things back where they belong and then….heck I don’t know I just start flinging everything around hee hee.  I guess I got that idea from Eleanor Burns ;) but on a much worse level.  Anyway here is a little peak of what I have been working on.

I have had too much fun with EQ7 and that is only the appliqué part.  I can’t wait to play with all the other parts of the software including “stitch”  I got the baby lock a year ago and have been too busy to use the embroidery part of the machine.  Then again I got the EQ7 software a year ago and just started playing around with it.  In my previous posts there are links to the blocks that I designed.  An-tony and Wormey, I have two more already designed I just need to sew them and then they will be uploaded to Craftsy too.  Sunny Day and Jack Bee Quick.  Don’t forget to check out the Rush Hour blog hop starting September 23rd. Kross-Eyed Kritters

So, I got this Krazy idea that I would start a whole series of blocks and eventually make a quilt out of them. I just recently finished block #2.

 His name is An-Tony.   I am still new to this and would appreciate feedback.  I spent about 5 hours trying to make the pattern look good before publishing. Starting with EQ7 to PDF to Word to PDF.  I don't know what I am doing.  However I am learning. The format of my 2nd pattern already looks better than the first. I learned how to add copyright (c) duh...it was so easy a caveman could have figured it out.  I am not a caveman. :) I am now finished designing block #3. After I get it sewn I will have that available for free too. This is addicting, I already have the idea for block #4 in my head.  I will be in the upcoming Rush Hour blog hop on Tuesday September 30th and then Black Cat Crossing sometime October 20-31st. Well I have a krazy filled day so I hope you have a Kwilt Krazy day as well!

Krazy Pattern Testers???

Hey ya’ll!  I have been teaching myself EQ7 and designed my very first applique block.  I got this idea from my granddaughters.  They visited a couple of weeks ago and went fishing for the very first time.  They each caught a couple of fish.

 When  Grand Pa Matt showed them the worms they were like…“ewwwww, yucky” but by the end of the day they asked if they could take them back home in their suitcase.  Hee hee! Carlee was so in love with one of her new friends she named him Wormey.  Sooooo, here is my first block.

This should be very quick and easy.  I think this is one a beginner could do. This is a 12" x 12" block.

 I would very much appreciate testers and feedback.  Good or Bad.  This was sew much fun and I have other ideas in my head.   I want to do a good job so I can share with everyone.  Since I am new to this any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. Check out the Sew Jo Saturday linky at My Go-Go Life for more inspiration!   Have a Kwilt Krazy Day!

Happy May Day!

My sweet Hubby helped me get my room organized again. I get overwhelmed when it gets too messy.  Luckily I have a man that is much more organized than I am and has great ideas and energy to get me going. I would not have done all this by myself.  I just kept twirling around in circles trying to decide where to start. It is still only a start.  I would like to get everything organized by color but that may take a year LOL.  Here is my new and improved sewing room.

Closet Hubby converted to a cool sewing table.  I can close the door but usually don't.

Hubby made a corner shelf for all of my many magazines and books and got these shelves for me from Home Depot to store fabric.

My Grandmother's old Singer is on a shelf for decor and Hubby made this cutting table for me. I keep the Charles Chips container for trashing fabric during cutting.  Only fabric that is way too small to keep. I am a scrap hoarder so it is probably only 1/8 inch when I throw it away.

I am not a great photographer so I closed my blinds to show my computer desk. Hubby made a top for my Grandmother's old Singer to covert to a desk.  The top was in real bad shape so he put a new piece of wood on top and stained it.  I like to play with the treadle foot while on the computer. 

 At my quarter seamer's club we are working on the Tree of Life.  This is Debbie Powell's completed Tree of Life.

The pattern is from the book Big Block Quilts by Magic by Nancy Johnson-Srebro.  Miss Lou will be showing us how to put all the blocks together on Monday.

I am proud I have gotten this far so fast.  I usually only have part of my homework finished.

 Today I am starting a new wall hanging.  I just loved this pattern.

It is Frog Days of Summer by Sandy Fitzpatrick of Hissyfitz Designs.  Check out her site she has lots of cute patterns. Well I guess I will start cutting. Have a Kwilt Krazy weekend!

Ahhh I can relax and start again

Love quilts finished yay! Thanks sew much to Miss Lou’s for allowing me to use her longarm machine I would not have met the deadline without it. I like to do charity quilts however working full time and having deadlines made it stressful. I will continue to make charity quilts but I need to work at my own pace. I was invited to a quilt retreat at Cedar Cross Retreat It was only 20 minutes from home and was a fun pajama party with a lot of sewing. A cute place tucked in the woods with no television just relaxation. This was my first time so I was the only one that ran out of projects. I need to bring more to sew next time. Luckily Debbie Powell from Miss Lou's was there to teach me the hand applique and embroidery techniques in order to make this cute pin cushion.

 I got the pattern from a vendor at a quilt festival a couple of weeks ago. Until next time have a Kwilt Krazy week!

Krazy Kough

I don't feel great today but I have a lot to do.  I need to get these African quilts finished.  I don't know if this is allergies or a cold.  You know this winter has been Krazy.  70 one day and 16 the next.  Dang winter. I am ready for some Spring.  For the first time ever I am joining a linky party yahoo! Thanks sew much to Kim  @ My Go-Go Life for hosting this!

I have 2 wips today.  The first is the top to my 2nd love quilt for kids in Africa.  Which I have to have quilted and shipped out by April 1st.

 The center square is created and colored by children around the country. Aren't they cute? Sew sweet!

 My second wip is a new kraft. Krochet...I know crochet :)  He is my second project and I am kinda proud of how he is turning out.  I got this book at Walmart.  So, I had to challenge myself.

Heeeeeers Krazy!!!

Long time no blog.  After staring at the computer all day at work the last thing I want to do is get online again at home. I have been missing the blog community and thought I would try to blog once a week starting in January.  Well now it is March.  I really want to get back into this.  I enjoy all of the blogs, the hops, and there is so much wonderful inspiration out there.  Here is what I have been doing since my last post back in October. 

Beaquilter had a fun block swap. We each had to make 12 blocks and we received 12 in return.   Here are the ones that I did.

Around Christmas time my co-workers found out that I sew and started asking me to do things for them. Here are 2 Christmas Tree Skirts that I did for the first time and no pattern.

 I think I did pretty good J  I had measurement help from Hubby. Then another co-worker asked me to make a one panel curtain into a two panel curtain.   My Husband and I learned to knit (yes He, my hubby) he is now knitting more than me ha ha.  He said it is relaxing and I agree. So then I had another request from a co-worker to make scarves, then another, and another.

All of this at Christmas time ugh.  I just need to learn to say no sorry I can’t do that. Of course I had to make scarves for family gifts too.

 I really like Mollie Makes and issue #28 has this doll pattern and instructions so I had to make it for my daughter for Christmas.

 Then I volunteered to make two love quilts to be shipped to Africa by April. Here is the first one, not quilted yet.

 Today I am working on the second top.

 I am almost done and then have to quilt both of them.

 Then last week I taught myself to crochet.  It's not great, but my first crochet project.

See, that's why I haven't been blogging ha ha. Ut oh. I think I am now Kraft Krazy. Not a bad thing!
